Kerrigan + Berry Riesling

K+B Riesling 2019

“Following on from the tight 2018 vintage, this is a little more forward and just as brilliant. Light straw with a green tinge, it is driven by lime and lemony fruit with astonishing length and drying minerality. An absolutely gorgeous, seductive wine. Drink now and over the next ten years”.

Michael Kerrigan and Gavin Berry know a thing or two about making wine, riesling in particular. There is a delicacy about this. Yet there is also palate power and peristence, with citrus and minerally notes augmented with some regional spiciness. It will cellar beautifully.

Low crops/small berries were shared between the Great Southern and Clare/Eden Valleys alike, with local conditions making generalisations doubly dangerous – exacerbated by the need to wait 5 years until the situation stabilises. In the meantime the sheer power of the citrus family flavours will need highbrow Chinese/Japanese dishes from the sea or lowbrow fish and chips.
